Golden Guinea Japanese Kerria features showy gold flowers along the branches from early to mid spring. It has light green deciduous foliage. The narrow leaves turn lemon yellow in fall. The smooth bark and lime green branches add an interesting dimension to the landscape.

Golden Guinea Japanese Kerria will grow to be about 5 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 6 feet. It tends to be a little leggy, with a typical clearance of 1 foot from the ground, and is suitable for planting under power lines. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for 40 years or more.
This shrub performs well in both full sun and full shade. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. This is a selected variety of a species not originally from North America.
